Jaipur: A 26-year-old man was arrested after threatening a doctor who refused to prescribe celphos pill in Dholpur Friday.
The police are questioning the man if he intended to commit suicide, which is why he asked the doctor for a celphos pill.
According to police, the incident happened on Friday when a man identified as Ramakant Jaatav arrived at the district hospital at 4 p.m. in its emergency department. “When the doctor on duty asked him about his problem, the man asked the doctor to write celphos as a prescription. Doctors told him that celphos is a poison. However, the man argued and asked the doctor to respond to his request. Also, the man started creating a scene when he took out his mobile phone and started filming,” a senior Dholpur police officer said.
During the arguments and the exchange of words, the man also threatened to kill the doctor. Experienced doctors from the emergency department notified Kotwali police station in Dholpur and a team of police officers rushed to the scene. “We arrested the man for disturbing the peace and obstructing the work of the government. He would be questioned as to why he wanted the doctor to prescribe him a celphos pill,” an officer explained.
